I-485

New edition required since Sept. 18, 2026

USCIS says it published a revised edition of Form I-485 (09/18/26) on Sept. 18, 2026, and that there is no grace period. USCIS says it will reject the 01/20/25 and 09/04/26 editions if they are postmarked or electronically submitted on or after Sept. 18, 2026, and will only accept the 09/18/26 edition.

I-765

Announced edition change on hold by court order

USCIS had announced it would accept only the 09/15/26 edition of Form I-765 starting Sept. 15, 2026. USCIS now says that, pursuant to a Sept. 14, 2026, order of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, it continues to accept the 08/21/25 edition and is not accepting the 09/15/26 edition.
